Close to 25,000 Left Without Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Impact
Residents reported large ice chunks as large as 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were attempting to repair power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to manage the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in the southern state also encountered power outages after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, over twenty-eight thousand energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing storm activity predicted across multiple regions of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where comparable situations led to major medical consequences in the area.
